FAQ | SIA Clinic — Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to the most commonly asked questions from our international patients. If you have additional questions, please contact us via WeChat (siakr01) or LINE (siaclinictw).

About the Clinic

Q: Is SIA a dermatology clinic or a plastic surgery clinic?

A: SIA is a dermatology clinic (피부과) specializing in non-surgical aesthetic treatments. All our doctors are experienced dermatology specialists. We do not perform surgical procedures like double eyelid surgery or rhinoplasty. Our focus is on injectable treatments, laser therapies, skin boosters, and energy-based devices.

Q: Are all treatments performed by doctors?

A: Yes. All injection procedures (botox, fillers, thread lifts) and device treatments are performed directly by our experienced dermatologists. This is a key differentiator — many clinics in Korea have nurses perform routine procedures, but at SIA, doctors handle every treatment.

Q: Is Chinese-language consultation available?

A: Yes. We provide Chinese-language support for consultations and can communicate via WeChat and LINE. For complex treatment plans, translation assistance is available during your visit.

Pricing & Payment

Q: Are the listed prices the final prices?

A: Prices listed on our website are base prices and do not include 10% VAT. The final price will be confirmed during your consultation based on the specific treatment plan. Some treatments may vary in price depending on the area treated and the amount of product used.

Q: What payment methods are accepted?

A: We accept cash (KRW), all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay, JCB, AMEX), and bank transfers. International patients can receive a tax refund for medical services — ask our front desk for details.

Q: Are there special prices for first-time visitors?

A: Yes. SIA regularly offers first-trial pricing (첫 시술 특가) for new patients. These promotions change periodically — contact us for current offers.

Treatment Questions

Q: Which treatments are most popular among international patients?

A: Our most popular treatments for international patients include: Botox (face slimming and anti-wrinkle), dermal fillers, skin boosters (Rejuran, Juvelook), Thermage FLX, Ultherapy, and thread lifting. Many patients combine multiple treatments in a single visit for maximum results.

Q: Can I get multiple treatments in one visit?

A: Yes, many treatments can be combined in a single session. Our doctors will create a customized treatment plan based on your goals, budget, and available time. Common combinations include botox + filler, laser + skin booster, or lifting device + thread lift.

Q: How long do treatments typically take?

A: Most individual treatments take 15-30 minutes. A comprehensive treatment session with multiple procedures typically takes 1-2 hours. Consultation is usually 15-20 minutes before treatment begins.

Booking & Visit

Q: Do I need to make an appointment?

A: Appointments are strongly recommended, especially for international patients. Walk-ins are accepted but may require waiting. Contact us via WeChat or LINE to schedule your visit in advance.

Q: Can I get a consultation before committing to treatment?

A: Absolutely. We offer consultations where the doctor will assess your skin, discuss your concerns, and recommend a treatment plan. You are under no obligation to proceed with treatment on the same day. Online pre-consultations via WeChat are also available.

Q: What should I prepare before my visit?

A: Bring your passport for registration and tax refund processing. Arrive with a clean face (no makeup) if possible. If you’re taking blood-thinning medications or supplements, please inform us in advance. Share any relevant medical history or allergies during consultation.

Recovery & Aftercare

Q: Can I fly home right after treatment?

A: Most non-invasive treatments (botox, fillers, skin boosters, lasers) have minimal downtime and you can fly the same day or next day. For thread lifts and more intensive procedures, we recommend staying in Seoul for 2-3 days for follow-up and monitoring.

Q: Will there be visible swelling or bruising?

A: Mild swelling and occasional bruising are normal after injectable treatments and typically resolve within 3-7 days. Our doctors use techniques that minimize bruising. We provide aftercare instructions and are available for post-treatment questions via WeChat.

Q: Do you provide aftercare support after I return home?

A: Yes. You can reach us via WeChat or LINE for any post-treatment concerns after returning home. We’re happy to answer questions, review progress photos, and provide guidance throughout your recovery.
